Reverse Shallow Depth

1. "Knobs of an Oven": 9/29/10 12:32pm; Bannack Ghost Town; f/5.6; 1/8; Canon Rebel Xs
2. "Knobs of an Oven too": 9/29/10 12:31pm; Bannack Ghost Town; f/5.0; 1/16; Canon Rebel Xs

For these shots I just focused on a different knob to get different effects and to show the shallow depth of field in different places.

  1. I really like how in "Knobs of an Oven too" only the middle knob is in focus.

  2. I like the composition of the bottom image. Really great blur on both sides of the focal point and that line of focus being on the rule of thirds. Did you edit them to black and white or did they just shoot that way?

  3. I agree, I like how you focused on certain knobs. It really turns a boring picture into an interesting design. Nice Job.

  4. I actually shot it that way. No change to the color in the camera or photoshop.
